OLLY Murs led the backlash against will.i.am after he “pretended” to remember an air hostess contestant on tonight’s episode of The Voice UK.
The former X Factor star accused his fellow judge of lying as he claimed to remember a brief encounter with hopeful Christina Ellinas in an airport lounge.
After her performance, 27-year-old Christina recounted her past career as a flight attendant to the judges.
She told Will: “I was a flight attendant, I actually have met you before. It was in the Qantas first class lounge in Australia, in Sydney.”
The 43-year-old Black Eyed Peas star enthusiastically replied: “Yeah! Yeah! I knew that. In the Qantas lounge, they have sandwiches…”
Unimpressed 34-year-old Olly cut him off, retorting: “You did not know that.”
As Will continued to reel off facts in a bid to prove that he did remember, the singer swiped: “You’re just repeating what she’s saying!”
Determined to prove Olly wrong, Will continued: “I could tell you the year, it was 2012/13.”
A shocked Christina confirmed that it was in 2013, with Olly seen to be shaking his head in disbelief.
And he wasn’t the only one to have a hard time buying the story, with viewers at home also questioning Will’s honesty.
One fan tweeted: “Will… do you REALLY remember her? Really, really?”
Another added: “Will has no idea who she is.”
A third said: “will.i.am is such a blagger.”

But it was still enough for Christina, who chose Will as her mentor over Sir Tom Jones and Olly.
The singer had wowed the judges with her performance of Lullaby by Sigala featuring Paloma Faith in her audition.
Christina wasn’t the only one to grab viewers’ attention in tonight’s episode of The Voice, with her fellow hopeful Harrisen Larner-Main sparking backlash when it was revealed that his mum still does his washing at the age of 25.
