McDonald's is giving away free cheeseburgers for an entire week to anyone who has downloaded their app - starting from today. 

The stellar deal gets underway at 10.30am and is sure to wipe away any glum thoughts you might having - on Blue Monday, the most miserable day of the year.

All you need to do to qualify is download the app - available on both Google Play and the App store - and head down to your nearest restaurant.

It will be available from 10.30am today and will run for a full five days - making it perfect for a pre-pay day lunch. 

The enticing treat, which will taste all the better for being free, is comprised of a 100 per cent beef patty and cheese.

Alongside that there are onions, pickles, mustard and a dollop of tomato ketchup, all sandwiched in-between a soft bun.

Once you have downloaded the app you'll need to set up an account, if you don't already have one. You'll then need to go to the 'my deals' tab where you can add the free cheeseburger.

After you have confirmed the deal you will be able to pick up the treat from a nearby store soon after.
