New Pictures Scuffles break out as 'yellow vests' march through Leeds in protest at 'being treated like nothing

Scuffles have broken out in Leeds as British 'yellow vests' march through the city in protests at 'being treated like nothing' and against 'corrupt government.'  

Around 150 were seen in the city this afternoon, with West Yorkshire Police deployed to keep the situation under control - leading to six arrests for offences including assaulting a police officer.  

At points during the march, protesters were seen clashing with police with pictures showing officers attempting to subdue several of those involved.  

Police said around 100 of the protesters were from Yellow Vest UK and 50 were counter protesters - taking place outside the BBC Yorkshire building.    

A Facebook event set for the event reads: 'We are tired of been treated like nothing, we work our a**** off to provide for our families. The cost of living increases with little increase in wages.

'Now is the time to stand up against this corrupt government that’s making the working class less better off.'

Leeds District Police were supported by additional officers from across West Yorkshire who made six arrests in total for offences including public order
