New Pictures Keane plan to make a comeback after six years away and rumours of fallout between bandmates

KEANE are keen to make a comeback after six years away.

I can reveal the rockers are planning a huge revival this year and have been in the studio working on new material for a fifth album.

The Sun revealed in 2013 that the quartet were splitting so frontman Tom Chaplin could go solo.

During previous years, Tom was said to be embroiled in a feud with bandmate Tim Rice-Oxley — once describing their relationship as “complicated”.

But now a source close to the band, which also includes bassist Jesse Quin, said: “The boys have had a good few years to do their own thing but now they’re back and raring to go once more.

“It’s been a long time coming and they’ve put all their differences to one side and are really loving working together again.

“They’ve been in the studio recording since the end of last year and have been offered songs by some amazing names. It’s all very exciting.”

Keane have shared a series of cryptic posts on social media over the past couple of months teasing their return.

Just before Christmas, one of the members posted a snap of the band’s drummer Richard Hughes on the group’s official Instagram page with the caption: “Thunder.”

Tom stormed the charts solo in 2016 with his album The Wave as well as a 2017 festive release Twelve Tales of Christmas.

In 2017 the singer also spoke candidly about battling a string of demons — revealing a past cocaine addiction returned and almost killed him in 2015.

After his drugs scare he insisted Keane would never return due to his fallout with bandmate Tim.

At the time he said: “There are no plans for Keane to get back together at the moment.

“But I want to mend those relationships. It’s complex. But we do have love for each other.

“Life happens, it gets in the way. Problems can fester and become toxic.

“We’re in different stages of our lives and there’s just a mix of feelings.”

Pressed on any chance of Keane reforming, he added: “The time wasn’t right, it doesn’t feel like now.”

It’s great he’s finally changed his mind.

Maybe it’s Mabel clean

MABEL will want to clean up at the Brits as much as she does in this photo.

The singer, up for British Breakthrough Act, sings in the bath in the video for new song Don’t Call Me Up.

She said: “It’s about having that person in your life who doesn’t appreciate you as much as you appreciate them and as soon as things end they start calling you again.

“It’s about being strong and saying ‘No you’ve had your chance’.”

Mabel is busy recording her debut album and hopes to do another collaboration with pal Not3s – but she has shut down rumours of romance.

She insisted: “We’ve known each other for a long time. It’s not often you find someone in the industry who you think will be a part of your life for ever.

“We have an amazing creative relationship, we find it super easy to write together and we do have amazing chemistry – but just as friends.”

Sounds as though he’s been friend zoned.

Gaga gets Papa a gig in La-La Land

LADY Gaga could end up wearing another food-themed dress when she attends this year’s Oscars bash.

I can reveal the singer, a hot tip for three gongs for her turn as Ally in A Star Is Born, has helped her restaurant-owner dad get the biggest gig of his life – catering for the Vanity Fair after-party on February 25.

It’s a huge step up for Joe Germanotta, who is used to dishing up Italian classics such as meatballs and pizza at Joanne Trattoria, named after his late sister, in New York.

An industry insider said: “Lady Gaga has always been supportive of her dad’s business but this is the biggest coup she has ever pulled off for him.

“She tapped up her best contacts and now her dad and his team are providing all the food on the night.

Lady Gaga is the toast of Hollywood at the moment and she’s expected to win big on the night.

Guests at last year’s exclusive bash thrown by the entertainment mag included Emily Blunt, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto.

They dug into a selection of fancy canapes – including miniature chocolate Oscars.

Robbie a sucker for a dubious tattoo

HE’S already got 30 tattoos but Robbie Williams is insisting he’s going to get another – despite his wife Ayda Field begging him to stop.

And I’m not surprised she’s put her foot down – because this time Robbie wants the image of a rolled-up banknote permanently inked on to his skin, an item associated with drug taking.

Robbie told his Instagram followers: “I’m actually going to get a tattoo of a rolled-up bank note. I’m going to do it. I told Ayda I was going to do it and she’s not happy.”

The dad-of-three has been clean for 19 years, apart from smoking cannabis, but has made no secret of his scary drug binges during the early years of his career.

During one particularly hard-hitting night at the Brits, Robbie said he was “hoovering up cocaine” through a straw.

The Stoke singer already has a number of surprising tattoos, including two pairs of glasses in tribute to legendary comedy double act The Two Ronnies and the logo of his former band Take That.

Word of advice, Rob: This time, listen to the wife.

Alice knows what she’s doing

BRIT singer Alice Chater has the right idea when it comes to making amazing pop.

The up-and-comer, whose single Thief is out today, said: “I’m inspired by real entertainers.

Pop star Alice Chater has a decent taste of music

“I grew up with the old music videos where the choreography was so fierce. I want full-on choreography, theatrics, acting. Just being a pop star.

“I look back at people like Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson and Britney Spears because they were all really strong. That’s what I want to do.

“I just love pop bangers that make you feel amazing and make you want to dance.
