GENNARO GATTUSO has slammed Gonzalo Higuain’s attitude just hours after Maurizio Sarri ripped into Chelsea’s lack of desire.
The AC Milan boss criticised the Blues-bound Argentine forward, 31, after dropping him for today’s game with Genoa.
Gattuso revealed Higuain “could have done more” and that the rumours have affected recent training sessions.
Ahead of the Serie A clash, the boss said: “I want to be honest with you all… we had a poor training session today due to all these [Higuain] rumours.
“We spoke after the training session and I did not consider him ready for this game.
“I accept his decision. Surely he could have done more and maybe we could have helped him fit in better.
“Right now we have to work with professionalism and determination, all these rumours have not helped us lately and we have to look ahead.”
At this stage it seems Higuain is nailed on for a move to Chelsea – however, Sarri will not be pleased to hear about the ex-Napoli man’s work ethic.
After last night’s 2-0 loss at Arsenal, he incredibly roared: “I want to send a message to my players, and I want my message to be very clear.
“I have to say that I’m extremely angry, very angry indeed.

“This defeat was due to our mentality more than anything else, our mental approach. We played against a team more determined than we were.
“I can’t accept that. It appears this group of players is extremely difficult to motivate.
“As a group of players, they’re not aggressive from a mental point of view.
“They don’t have a ferocity in their mentality. That’s down to their characteristics. It’s difficult to change.
“It’s important my players have the attitude I’m asking them to have. If they don’t have that, they shouldn’t be playing at this level.”
