New Pictures Pep tells pretty Man City stars to ditch hair gel and moisturiser and focus on the game

PEP GUARDIOLA has warned his immaculate Manchester City stars to stop preening themselves if they want a clean sweep of trophies this season.

The City boss held a team meeting just hours before their thrilling 2-1 Prem triumph over bitter title rivals Liverpool earlier this month in which he ordered his players to dump the hair gel, moisturiser and after shave.

He told them to concentrate soley on their on-the-pitch performance rather than appearance.

While Manchester United players used to be on the receiving end of the famous Sir Alex Ferguson hairdryer, this was more anti-hairdryer.

A City insider revealed: “Pep told the players: ‘You’re not spending time doing your hairstyling and all of this,’ as he mimicked someone applying face moisturiser and added: ‘Everything goes into the performance’.”

The bizarre deodor-rant came after star striker Sergio Aguero revealed how he dyed his hair platinum blonde before City’s 3-1 Manchester derby win over United to win a bet with his brother.

Guardiola has a habit of telling his players to focus.Benjamin Mendy revealed that his boss had told him to curb his social media antics and focus on his football instead.

The outspoken star said: “I know the fans love it, but the manager is the chief of the team, so when he says something I have to listen to him.

“Every player understands this. So in the dressing room, everywhere, I don’t pick up my phone.

“The manager is the manager. If he says something, I need to listen to him. So I keep low, and on the pitch I give everything for the team and the fans.

“We have an amazing stadium so we need to enjoy it and that’s what I try to do every day.

“Every time I am with my phone I am on Instagram or Twitter and just now I need to be careful. When I am at the training centre, the CFA (City Football Academy), I don’t use my phone but instead I listen to the manager.”
