WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO has reportedly discussed the possibility of a comeback to the ring, with three fights proposed.
The former heavyweight ruler was recently linked with a comeback against Brit Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium in April.
Although Klitschko shut down the rumours suggesting it was “fake news” – however, The Ring Magazine claim the Ukrainian is himself bluffing.
The Ring claim Klitschko, who turns 43 in March, has discussed a lucrative deal with sports streaming site DAZN, with three fights in place.
Klitschko would first return against lesser opposition with the comeback bout being staged in Germany – familiar territory for the Ukrainian.
The second fight of the deal would be against Tyson Fury, 30, who famously ripped the WBA, IBF and WBO world titles off Klitschko with a points win in November 2015.
Fury was set to rematch Klitschko on two occasions, however, the proposed July and October 2016 dates were scrapped due to an injury to the Brit and further mental health problems.
Klitschko would get in the ring with a British heavyweight in his next fight, though, as he would be stopped by Anthony Joshua infront of 90,000 fans at Wembley in April 2017.
Joshua dropped Klitschko in round five before being floored himself in the next session – however, the younger fighter forced the finish in the 11th signalling the end to a modern classic.
That was, people thought, Klitschko’s final showdown, after the ‘Dr Steelhammer’ rejected the chance to rematch Joshua in the same year.
It seems the 42-year-old has changed his mind about the Joshua rematch, as the final fight in the proposed comeback deal would see a re-run of that April 2017 classic.
Not only would Klitschko be handed three fights, including two rematches against past conquerors, it is believed the ex-world champion will become a global ambassador for DAZN.
Juventus and football icon Cristiano Ronaldo is already an ambassador for DAZN.
