SALES season should be coming to an end by now – but this year prices are being slashed all over again.
Even discount stores are getting in on the act, keen to get rid of stock that failed to shift in either the traditionally big-spending month of December or in the New Year sales.
Retail sales were down 0.9 per cent in December compared to the previous month, according to figures released yesterday.
That means bargains are up for grabs — and here are some of the best on offer at low-cost shops.
1) Flying Tiger: This weekend the variety chain is reducing all items to £2 or less. in-store until Sunday. I especially love the magnetic dartsboard, previously £10, now £2.
Or keep your notes handy in a sequin notebook, now just £2. For kids, play slime is on offer from £1.
2) B&M: This budget retailer is having a massive sale in-store.
You can jazz up your home with their homewares sale, featuring plenty of special buys at £5 and under including clocks, candles and wall-hangings.
For those on a health kick, they have the Mo Farah range of sport drinks and protein cookies, for less than £1 each.
3) Lidl: A big-brand 99p sale is now on. For example, get a pack of Nairn’s cheese oatcakes for 99p instead of the usual £1.39.
Or stock up your freezer with two Chicago Town deep-dish pizzas for half their regular price.
4) The Range: Even Kate Middleton is a fan of this low-price home store, which is now having a huge winter sale.
Light up your lounge with a glass-ja vanilla candle for £1, or tea lights, also £1.
