New Pictures First look at the Strictly Come Dancing live tour – as Joe Sugg triumphs over Stacey Dooley and the judges show off their dance moves

TEN thousand foot-stomping Strictly Come Dancing fans celebrated as their favourite celebs kicked off the tour last night with a spectacular first show.

Over the next three weeks, crowds will flood into arenas across the country as the stars of 2018 perform 29 shows.

Former champ Ore Oduba returns as host with his witty one-liners and effortless charm to keep all four judges in check.

As expected, Craig Revel Horwood continues his panto run as tour villain, even handing fan favourite Joe Sugg a TWO after he tumbled to the ground during his first dance.

But behind the scenes he is hard at work directing the show, which is jam-packed full of dazzling performances from both the professionals and celebrities.

He’s joined by head judge Shirley Ballas, Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli, who give fans a rare treat by stepping out from behind their judging table to entertain crowds.

But of course the whole show celebrates our Strictly stars including show winner Stacey Dooley, who has teamed up with Aljaž Škorjanec after her partner Kevin Clifton joined the cast of Rock of Ages instead.

They join Ashley Roberts and Pasha Kovalev, Dr Ranj Singh and Janette Manrara, Lauren Steadman and AJ Pritchard, Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell, Graeme Swann and Karen Clifton and Faye Tozer and Giovanni Pernice on a tour of the UK to entertain fans.

As ever, the BBC show offered twists and turns both on and off-screen – and the build up to the tour was no different.

Strictly bad boys Seann Walsh and Danny John-Jules were both kicked off the tour line-up after a controversial series.

Seann was caught kissing his married dance partner Katya Jones, while Danny was accused of bullying professional Amy Dowden.

And just three weeks before joining Lauren Steadman on the tour, AJ Pritchard was brutally attacked on a festive night out.

Loyal fans cheered as he made a triumphant return to the stage for the first time and bravely put his horrific ordeal behind him.

The family-friendly show offered everything from a gigantic glitterball hung above the stage, to flames of fire, surprise performances from the judges and the flawless Strictly Come Dancing live band and singers.

The celebrities each performed their two favourites routines of the series as well as taking part in group dances.

Steps star Faye was awarded 80 out of 80 for her first show on tour and got a huge reaction from the crowd when she warmly welcomed her famous ‘goats’ back to share the stage to perform the Charleston to The Lonely Goatherd from The Sound of Music.

Meanwhile YouTube sensation Joe proved he’s still head over heels for his Strictly girlfriend Dianne after his unfortunate trip.

The red-headed professional ended up on top of her celebrity boyfriend after a mishap dancing to Arctic Monkeys’ I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor.

Joe, 27, later joked to crowds: “It was a bit of a bumpy start, but we got through it.”

Despite his fall, the internet star still managed to beat series winner Stacey, who had joked earlier she would “kick off and have the hump” if she didn’t win over crowds on tour.

So she wouldn’t have been too pleased then when her co-star Joe snatched the crown from her on show one.

Thankfully Stacey’s got another 28 shows to impress the audience who are in full control of who wins each night.

Strictly Come Dancing The Live Tour continues at Arena Birmingham tonight until the 21st, before travelling across the UK to Leeds’ First Direct Arena, Manchester Arena, Liverpool’s Echo Arena, Sheffield’s Fly DSA Arena, The SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena and The SSE Arena, Wembley. The final tour ends at The O2 Arena in London on February 9/10.
