UNAI EMERY says it is too late to start having regrets about Aaron Ramsey’s impending move to Juventus.
The Welsh maestro was a key figure in Saturday’s crucial 2-0 win against Chelsea at the point of a midfield diamond.
Now bewildered Arsenal fans are asking why the club are allowing the 28-year-old to leave as a free agent after withdrawing their offer of a new contract.
But boss Emery said: “We spoke about the circumstance with Ramsey three months ago and now the decision is finished for him and for the club.
“Yes, of course, his future is very important for his family but it is also very important for him to be OK to play for us like he did against Chelsea.
“I am very happy with him because in the last month his focus has been very clear.

“Two weeks ago when we travelled to Blackpool where the atmosphere was difficult and the pitch was not good, he said to me ‘I want to play and help this team’.
“That is the spirit I want to see and I didn’t need to ask him because I knew he wanted to play against Chelsea and he helped us with his quality.”
Even when Ramsey was substituted midway through the second-half on Saturday, Emery still could not find a role for Mesut Ozil.
The £350,000-a-week playmaker was back on the bench after being left out of the squad for last week’s 1-0 defeat at West Ham.
Yet he did not even leave the dug-out to warm up and Emery added: “He was OK to play but I decided not to play him.
“I spoke with him and told him I wanted him to be ready for this match and for the next games with the same spirit as all the players.
“I had confidence in him and he could have done what we wanted if he had played. But in the next matches we are going to need every player and also his quality.”
Emery’s decision to start with a 4-4-2 formation for the first time this season definitely won the approval of record signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The £60million striker said: “It was really nice playing up front with Alexandre Lacazette. We made a lot of runs for the team and are happy when we play together.
“We have such a good feeling between us. It was cool. He’s a great guy and we have the same vision about football.
“There is no rivalry between us. I love him! We are friends so when one of us is going well and scoring, the other one’s happy.”
But it was not all good news for Arsenal and Emery fears Hector Bellerin is facing a long spell out after being carried off.
The club are awaiting scan results after the Spanish right-back, 23, appeared to suffer ligament damage to his left knee.
Emery admitted: “We have to wait until Monday, but the first impressions are not positive.”
He insisted, though, the club did not need to go out and buy a replacement as there were options in the squad to cover.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles filled in for the remaining 18 minutes and Emery said: “We have Ainsley playing well.
“Also there is Stephan Lichtsteiner, another player who can play in that position, plus I do not forget Carl Jenkinson.”
